SOLVENT VAPOR DEGREASING SYSTEMS

Effective Cleaning is Vitally Important
As production and design technology advance, the role cleaning plays within the manufacturing process takes on greater importance every day.  Producing clean parts is only part of the equation.  Productivity, material costs and waste management are real concerns.  Today's more sophisticated products and regulated work environment require modern efficient cleaning processes... a planned "systems" approach.  As the recognized leader in industrial cleaning for over 50 years, PCT is uniquely qualified to provide our customers with unparalleled end-to-end industrial cleaning services.  Our special knowledge of how solvents, equipment, material handling and recovery processes interact enable PCT to handle virtually any cleaning assignment from start to finish.

Vapor Degreasing
Vapor degreasing cleans parts by suspending the work in pure-hot vapor, generated by boiling a cleaning solvent.  As the ambient temperature part enters the tank, hot solvent vapors condense on it and wash away soluble contaminants.  This cleaning action continues until the part temperature equals the vapor temperature.  Additional cleaning takes place as the part is sprayed with pure distillate solvent.  This mechanical cleaning action removes particulate and insoluble soils, while cooling the part below vapor temperature.

After spraying, the work remains in the vapor zone for final pure vapor rinsing and drying.

Immersion-Vapor-Degreasing
Materials are cleaned by immersion in two solvent baths, rinsing in pure solvent distillate, and vapor drying.

Gross soils are removed by the boiling activity of the first immersion chamber.  Parts are then placed in the second tank, containing cooler solvent.  This second tank can be augmented with ultrasonics for removing particulate and insoluble soils.

Final rinse in pure solvent distillate and vapor drying complete the cleaning cycle.

Open Top Automation
Many manufacturers automate their open-top degreasers by adding a work transporter.  Automation provides several benefits.  While increasing production speed, work transporters guarantee cleaning consistency and conserve solvent.  State of the art work transporters can be programmed to automatically pick up and discharge work, eliminating the need of a full time operator.
